Hope

Is it just to let the present be ruled by the past?
Is it fitting to allow old shadows in the present?
Or is the darkness passed something to be shunned from now?

Is it foolish to harbour hope in the light of truth,
While the facts do not accord to that truth that shines so brightly?

I harbour hope for the sake of my soul; to remain unbroken and unweathered by time, to retain the innocence I have been given and to accept the atonement done for my sins.

I stand I hope.
I reach out to you.
And though silence rules us now
I will sing you my songs…
