Lifeline

I was born in blood,
Raised in chaos
Ruined in lust.

Then I fell in love,
Hard into grace
And off the side of the map.

My fists are worn from fighting,
My eyes all dried up,
My legs sore from running
And my heart sick of aching.

I drowned myself that day,
At age fifteen I said my goodbyes
Leaving behind all my filth in that water,
I was reborn that day.
